Apply now to join new STEM teacher prep program

June 1, 2012 - The NCNSP STEM Teacher Education Program (STEP) offers a special summer recruitment period for the 2012-13 cohort. The new lateral entry teacher certification program gives recent college graduates and mid-career professionals alternative path to become science, math and technology teachers in North Carolina secondary schools.

During the summer recruitment period, interested candidates can select from internships at Cross Creek Early College in Fayetteville and Wayne School of Engineering in Goldsboro. All tuition, training costs and materials during the 15-month internship will be paid in full and candidates will receive a loaner laptop, a $2500 stipend, placement assistance following program completion and mentor support throughout the internship.
